Who is LEGO®–based Therapy For?
LEGO®–based therapy was initially developed to assist children with autism who typically find socialisation challenging. It was soon discovered to have benefits with children with other social communication difficulties. LEGO®–based therapy offers a fun and meaningful modality for children to develop social skills, including those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), selective mutism, social anxiety disorders, depression and phobias.

What is LEGO®– based Therapy?
LEGO®–based therapy is a small group program which aims to develop the social skills of children aged 5 – 15. Using LEGO® bricks and kits promotes the skills of conversation, listening, turn-taking, sharing, teamwork, collaboration and problem-solving. Groups are set tasks to complete together based on particular themes. Each group member is assigned a role which they are responsible for and these roles are rotated to ensure the development of all skills. LEGO® -based therapy groups are organised according to age group or ability. There is a maximum of 4 children per group led by a trained facilitator.
